October 2008

It has been a very busy couple of months, with a number of houses investigated, together with an investigation into Kelty Woods, which was brought to our attention in a local press article. You can find out more details on the forum and the case is growing more and more interesting by the day.

We approach our first birthday in November and it looks like the second year will be even busier than the first.

There will be a TV appearance in November, watch the website for details and also our campaign for Helen Duncan continues by our colleagues in England with the support of our own campaign and also for the memorial to those persecuted of witchcraft in Scotland’s darker history.

There is an extra special event coming up which the public can take part in and we are busy preparing this at the moment. It is an exciting opportunity and something we are really looking forward to.

So as the days get shorter, the nights get longer and the darkness decends,  we head to some of the most scariest places to investigate……

Autumn Outlook 2008

Well as Summer draws to an end, we’re now looking towards our plans for Autumn, including our 1st Birthday in October.  As you can already see we’ve been improving our web pages and adding in links to our friends websites (remember if you want yours included in our links page just drop us an email).

While Ewan has been taking a few days break after the Spiritual Connextions Awards weekend, I have been off travelling around Scotland checking out some fantastic locations for some future investigations.  We are very pleased to announce that details of these investigations will be published on the site and forum once they have taken place, so please keep checking back!!  Oh and not all of them are the usual style investigations you have come to see so much of.

During the middle of September both Ewan and I attended the RAF Leuchars Air Show and would like to thank all the guys and gals there for making our visit an extra special one, especially the extra cute guys from the Red Arrow Display team!  Thanks boys!!

Remember we now have an improved easier to use forum, which is free to join, so why not click on the link above and sign up!

We have taken into account everything our members & mailing list friends commented on in our last Customer Survey and have been doing our best to improve our online profile in relation to the helpful suggestions made by all of you.  We really hope you like our improvements and find both our website and forum a lot easier to use and navigate around.  We will be conducting another survey real soon, so if you haven’t already signed up to either our mailing list or forum please do so now so your views and opinions can be included!

Until next time!

Spiritual Connextions Awards (5th - 7th September)

Well, we drove down in torrential storms from Edinburgh to Portsmouth, but it was certainly worthwhile and a great weekend.

I would echo Andie’s comment on Spiritual Connextions making us so welcome at the weekend.

Congratulations again to Mary King’s Close on winning the award for best Paranormal Event. We look forward to being part of this event again next year at Edinburgh’s Mary King’s Ghostfest.

And I was stunned but overjoyed at winning the “Open Platform” demonstration of mediumship. Out of the 360 applications, the 16 excellent mediums put forward and the 4 finalists, I am still delighted that I won.

Spiritual Connextions Awards (5th - 7th September)

What can I say, apart from what a fantastic weekend, and a huge thanks to all those at Spiritual Connextions for making us so welcome.  I would like to congratulate Ewan Irvine, my partner in crime, for winning the X-Factor style Open Platform competition on Saturday!  Sadly, I am not able to attend the final event this evening where Ewan will be demonstrating his mediumship to the VIP audience, but I wish him all the luck in the world and know he will do no less than his best, “Good luck Ewan, love you mate!”.

As part of his “prize” Ewan will be taking part in a UK-wide tour with the Spiritual Connextions people next year, so watch this space for more details when they come through!

Huge Congratulations to Mary King’s Close for winning best Paranormal Event for their wonderful “Mary King’s Ghost Fest” for the 2nd year in a row.  We are very proud to be partners in Ghost Fest and Thanks Steven for giving us a mention.

The best moment of the entire weekend for me had to be my afternoon with Tony Stockwell (swoon!).  It made my year when Ewan introduced us, all I can say is he is one of the most genuine, friendly and gorgeous men I have ever met, (he even bought me a coffee, what more could a girl as for, LOL).  It was fantastic to get the chance to meet him and very much look forward to meeting up again in the future.  “Congratulations on your award Tony, hope you manage to get a good relaxing break and catch up with you real soon!”

Of course I did not just meet Tony, there was a whole host of wonderful people at the weekend of events - Karen Willis, Barrie John, Lara Wells, Carol Stirling, Craig & Richard from Spiritual Connextions, to name just a few.  It was a shame there weren’t that many people at the awards ceremony on Friday night there to pick up their awards, but I would like to Congratulate everyone on making the final and of course especially to the winners!

Both Ewan and I very much look forward to next years Regional and National events, and Thanks again to everyone involved!

Summer 2008

Well, as summer draws to an end, we have had our holidays and are back to solid investigating. Scott moved house , Andie went to Ireland and is just back from the Madonna Concert in Cardiff after a few days. Roberta has been working solidly around the UK and Ewan has being doing similar and spending quite a lot of time in anywhere haunted ( and with the British summer, mostly in the rain and the wind ). Fiona will still pop up now and again at our investigations ( she can’t get rid of us that easily ) and with a number of crew members on board we have set up a number of investigations over the next few months.

The team are preparing for a conference at Loch Lomond in October 2008 and next year, it is off to the USA for a couple of weeks at another conference we have been asked to take part in.

We have really enjoyed this year, one of the highlights was taking part in Edinburgh’s Mary King’s Ghostfest and we are already planning for next year’s event.

It has also been amazing the number of reported haunted houses we have looked into. Our view has been simple and to help the owner of the house. If we can find a logical explanation, then this means the owner can settle fully in their house. If we find that something is going on that cannot be explained we will continue to work with the owner to try and find an explanation and to perhaps in some way try to solve things.

So, the next few months will again be busy. Will there be a break ?…….probably not……..!!!
